Brunei ICT Awards Expo launched (25th November 2004)

Bandar Seri Begawan – The Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA) 2004 was launched with the support of the ICT industry in Brunei yesterday.

Among other things, BICTA Expo aims to showcase the innovations and creativity of the citizen and residents, local ICT companies and education institutions to produce their products in the ICT areas as part of the government efforts to develop the nation.

Pehin Dato Awang Haji Abu Bakar, Minister of Health who's also the Acting Minister of Communication, launched the expo.

In his speech, Pehin Dato Haji Abdullah, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communication, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of BICTA, said that BICTA also functioned as a platform for local ICT companies to upgrade their products and compete with other developed countries in ICT industries.

At the function, the Minister of Health also handed over prizes to the winner of the logo design and slogan of the Brunei Darussalam Information Technology Council.
