Sixteen categories are available
for the public's participation in this year's
Brunei Darussalam ICT (BICTAS) Awards, a step
towards nomination to represent the country in
the Asia Pacific ICT Awards.
This was revealed during the BICTA information
day yesterday to introduce BICTA to the public.
Each category winner of BICTA 2006 will receive
$1000 cash prize, a return air ticket to Macau,
China, accommodation, trophy and a certificate,
and the honour to represent Brunei Darussalam in
the Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) in Macau,
China.
Winners of BICTA 2005 shared their experiences
in participating in BICTA and representing
Brunei Darussalam in the Asia Pacific ICT Awards
last February in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
BICTA and its associated events are organised by
the Ministry of Communications with the support
of the Authority of Info-communications
Technology Industry (AiTi), Brunei Darussalam
Information Technology Council Secretariat (BIT
Secretariat) and the Brunei Darussalam Computer
Society (PKBD).
BICTA was introduced in 2004 to stimulate
innovation and creativity in ICT industry among
individual and associations including SMEs, and
to be the benchmark for local companies to
compete.
