15 exhibitors join Bitex fair

Another BITEX® 2004 Exhibition and Trade Fair, organised by the Brunei Darussalam Computer Society (PKBD), will showcase the latest in Information
and Communication Technology available in the country.

Fifteen local vendors will take part in the BITEX exhibition to be held August 1-5 at the Atrium Hall, The Mall. They will showcase their products and have special offers in IT and IT related products for buyers.

Visitors can also look forward to wireless Internet access provided during the 5-day fair sponsored by Primatel. Access will not be encrypted, thus anyone can log on free of charge.

Among the vendors who will be participating include Advance Computer, AV Electronics, Beseller, Bridgelink, Concepts, Comsoft Computer, DST Communications Sdn Bhd, Futech Enterprise, Focus Computer School, Netcom Computer House, WG Office Supplies & Services, Wescot Office Automation & Trading Co, and Yih Fah Trading & Printing Co.

The Ministry of Communications will also be participating to promote the Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA).

PKBD, a non-profit organisation, aims to promote the growth and development of knowledge of information technology amongst the general population of Brunei Darussalam.

Through its affirmative programmes and proactive involvement at the national level, PKBD seeks to create a new generation of corporate leaders, academics, students and others who will be IT knowledgeable and contribute to the national goal of making IT one of the major engines for economic growth.
